power to activate collective action.

The Visionary Panel of FFP consists of three 3 Parent / Family Caucuses: Black, Hispanic and Early Childhood Development. These caucuses are made up of Forsyth County family members who serve as: general caucus members, parent/family researchers and conveners- igniting their personal power to activate collective action for the betterment of their children, families and community as a whole. The three caucuses serve as grassroots movement teams within the culturally affirming space of the FFP Visionary Panel which is a space that honors the brilliance and genius of Black and Brown children and the families and communities they belong to.
Facilitated by Action4Equity, each caucus will engage in the following: *Participate in collective decision-making *Conduct community driven research *Make requests for services on behalf of their communities, schools, and families *Draft assessments, policy agendas and whole child action plans *Request and produce data *Provide collective community leadership around issues facing Black and Brown children.
In partnership with the Whole Child Facilitation Team of FFP, Action4Equity serves as the Facilitator of the Visionary Panel, creating a culturally competent network between the community and institutions that will ensure that the existing efforts for Universal Pre-K in Forsyth County are filtered through an equity and social justice lens that benefits marginalized children and families while bringing Action4Equity’s backbone of fierce community support to operationalizing solutions county-wide.

caucus.
The purpose of the Black caucus is to give Black parents and families a space to air their concerns and questions in a space that shares a deep understanding of the struggles they are going through. The Black caucus is a subset of the Forsyth Family Power group which will contain 3-5 parents who are community conveners, and around 10-20 parents who are family caucus members. Community conveners are responsible for bringing caucus membership together to address issues surrounding the whole child. In this process, caucus members are engaged, committed, curious and concerned family members of WSFC/SS students.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CAUCUS.
Early Childhood Education refers to the period of time from which a child is born to the time they enter kindergarten. In recent discussion, it has been illuminated by scholars and researchers that high-quality early learning lays the foundation for future success. From the ages 0-8, children develop critical social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills which build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. As such, the purpose of the Early Childhood Education Task Force is to create a plan for the implementation of a comprehensive, integrated Pre-K system in Forsyth County that will provide all families in Forsyth County with the opportunity to enroll their children in a high-quality Pre-K Program. While the ECE Task Force is a planning and recommendatory body, it is anticipated that its members will utilize their relevant expertise and/or influence to assist in bringing about the implementation of the plan. An experienced facilitator will facilitate these Task Force meetings.
